death investigation

I work at Community Regional Medical Centers in Fresno, CA. As a part of my duties i work as a diener and assist pathologists with autopsies, which I find very interesting. You can view my resume/CV to learn more about me.

In 2009 I became a Registered Diplomate with the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators (D-ABMDI) while working as a Deputy Coroner for Merced County in California. ABMDI certifies individuals who have the proven knowledge and skills necessary to conduct death investigations as set forth in the National Institutes of Justice publication "Death Investigation: A Guide for the Scene Investigator".

web projects

Anthropological web projects I've done that are still online:

ForensicAnthro.com - forensic anthropology and human osteology educational resources
Marci's Anthro Page - study guides of determination of sex and race from skull.

merced dig

At Merced College I had the opportunity to work with the Merced County Coroner's Office on crime scenes collecting forensic evidence under the supervision of my Anthropology professor, Marcus Arguelles. I was also able to participate in Native American archaeological digs and work in the Archaeology and Anatomy Labs on artifacts and human remains. This pic is from one such crime scene I helped to excavate.

I also spent some time at Mercyhurst College (in PA) studying forensic anthropology and performed osteological analysis on remains for NAGPRA (Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act) compliance.

CSU Stanislaus Catalog, Anthropology Department PDFI was honored with the CSU Stanislaus Dean's Medal Award for Academic Excellence, Outstanding Student Recognition in Anthropology, my graduating year. I also have the dubious honor of appearing in the Anthropology section of the CSU Stanislaus 2001-2003 University Catalog - view pdf.
